|This host church manual is intended to answer some questions about the responsibilities of the host church and the responsibilities of the Charles Simeon Trust (CST) and to lend clarity concerning the process of running a Workshop on Biblical Exposition. It is divided according to these two goals.
Sections 1 and 2 aim to communicate the idea and ethos of the Workshops on Biblical Exposition. The Workshops are divided into three parts: 1) the instructional sessions to teach principles of exegesis, 2) the expositions to demonstrate expositional preaching and 3) the small group workshops to equip the participants and give them an opportunity to practice the skills of exposition. Host pastors should be familiar with this section before committing their church to hosting a Workshop.
Sections 3 and 4 are meant to outline the process and all of the details associated with hosting and running a Workshop including cost structure, promotional strategies, and the minimum requirements for making a Workshop run smoothly.
