Alyssa joined the team in 2016. She is primarily responsible for designing and implementing development and communication strategies in order to secure the funding needed for the Charles Simeon Trust’s ministry. Alyssa also serves her church,
Holy Trinity, as a Lead Teacher and curriculum writer for the
Holy Trinity Institute for Discipleship and Mission, as a member of the women’s ministry leadership team, and as KidCity teacher. She also teaches the Bible at women’s events, conferences, and retreats. A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Alyssa grew up in a Christian home. She earned a BA from
Moody Bible Institute in Biblical Languages, an MA in Biblical Exegesis at
Wheaton College, and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the
Lilly School of Philanthropy. Since doing her graduate work, Alyssa served as a Major Gifts and Grants Officer at
Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, as a Lecturer and Director of Development at the
Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek, Croatia, and as an advancement consultant for several churches, ministries, and seminaries. She has also taught the Bible and led ministries in various roles in local churches. She and her husband Kevin (who serves as Director of Ministries at the Charles Simeon Trust) live in Chicago with their two children.
