Robert serves on the clergy team at Christ Church in Vienna, Austria (Church of England, Diocese in Europe). He also serves as the Director of Ministries of the Charles Simeon Trust, where he has served since 2005. Robert earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Christian Literature at the University of Chicago, an MS in Communications (Journalism) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a PhD in New Testament at the University of Bristol in England. His dissertation was published by Mohr Siebeck in the WUNT II series as Hellenistic Dimensions of the Gospel of Matthew: Background and Rhetoric. He previously served as a pastoral intern at Holy Trinity Church for six years (2002-2008) and later as University Minister (2012-2014). He is a Fellow at the Center for Pastor Theologians and also serves on the Boards of the Charles Simeon Trust of Canada and Prédica Fiel in Cuba.
Licenciado em Educação Física pela Universidade Lusófona (2001). Entre 2004 e 2006 foi Pastor Auxiliar da Igreja Baptista da Graça, a qual o consagrou ao ministério pastoral (2006) e pastoreou a tempo integral até 2012. Completou o MDiv (Mestrado em Divindade), em 2016, no Reformed Theological Seminary (Jackson, MS). Em 2017 foi aceito como aluno do programa de doutoramento (PhD) em estudos bíblicos no Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, tendo sido galardoado com a John Lightfoot biblical studies scholarship. É actualmente o pastor da Primeira Igreja Baptista de Lisboa. Casado com a Marta, foram abençoados com três rapazes: Rúben, David e Tiago.
Diego is the Senior Pastor of Olivet Baptist Church in Toronto, since 2012. Before he served in South Africa for 11 years as a pastor in Johannesburg. He has contributed to conferences and training in Africa, Europe, South America and North America. He has a BTh from Seminário Teológico Batista D’ Oeste do Brasil and an MA in Biblical and Theological Studies from Knox Theological Seminary in Fort Lauderdale, and currently is in the program of PhD in Theology of the South African Theological Seminary.
