What Is It?
The Workshop on Biblical Exposition is a three-day training event aimed to encourage and equip you in the skills needed to read, understand, and proclaim the Word of God.
Who Should Attend?
The Workshops on Biblical Exposition are for men who are responsible for regularly preaching and teaching. We also welcome those in bi-vocational ministries as well as those training for ministry.
How Should I Prepare?
During the small groups, you will have an opportunity to get feedback on work you’ve prepared in advance.
Ben Panner
Director of Workshops
Ben Panner became the Director of Workshops in 2024. Before joining the Trust, he spent 12 years serving as a pastor at College Church in Wheaton, IL (2012-2024). After earning a Bachelor’s in Business and Economics and a Master’s in Christian Formation and Ministry from Wheaton College, he continued his theological training by completing an MDiv through Reformed Theological Seminary. In 2024, he was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America. He has been a Workshop Instructor for the Simeon Trust since 2018. As the Director of Workshops, Ben will continue to instruct, train instructors, and work with a great team to coordinate workshops around the globe. Ben and his wife Joanna are enjoying the fullness of life with five young kids: Piper, Jeremiah, Levi, Simeon, and Seth.
Kevin Walker
Assistant Pastor for Ministry Training, Holy Trinity Church
Kevin took on the role of Director of Ministries for the Charles Simeon Trust in 2024. Prior to that, he served as the Director of Workshops (2022-2024) and the Director of Training (2016-2022). He also serves as the Assistant Pastor for Ministry Training at Holy Trinity Church in Chicago, Illinois. A native of Western New York, Kevin came to a personal faith at a Youth for Christ event. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the Moody Bible Institute and completed an MDiv at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Kevin has served as lecturer in New Testament and Greek at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek, Croatia and as the Principal of Kinshasa Christian School in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. He is married to Alyssa (who serves as Director of Advancement Operations at the Charles Simeon Trust) and they live with their children, Manny and Sayira, in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago.
