What Is It?
The Workshop on Biblical Exposition is a three-day training event aimed to encourage and equip you in the skills needed to read, understand, and proclaim the Word of God.
Who Should Attend?
The Workshops on Biblical Exposition are for men who are responsible for regularly preaching and teaching. We also welcome those in bi-vocational ministries as well as those training for ministry.
How Should I Prepare?
During the small groups, you will have an opportunity to get feedback on work you’ve prepared in advance.
Ryan Bishop
Senior Pastor, Redeemer Church
Ryan is the Senior Pastor of Redeemer Church in Graham, Texas. Ryan holds an MDiv and a ThM from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ryan is also certified by ACBC as a biblical counselor, and he writes and instructs for the Center for Biblical Counseling and Discipleship. He is the founder of the Brazos River Ministers Association. Previously, he served as Associate Pastor at Kenwood Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky and a Pastoral Intern at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.
P. J. Tibayan
Pastor, Bellflower Baptist Church
P. J. Tibayan serves as pastor at Bellflower Baptist Church in Bellflower, California. He earned his BA from The Master’s University, his MDiv from The Master’s Seminary, as well as a Master of Missional Leadership from The Resurgence Training Center, before receiving his DMin in biblical theology from Southern Seminary. Previously, he served as an intern at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., as youth pastor and assistant pastor at Christian Fellowship Bible Church in Walnut, California, and as the pastor for preaching at CrossView Church. PJ currently serves on the steering team for The Gospel Coalition LA, and leads Shepherd LA. He participates with the pastors of the Los Angeles Southern Baptist Association and the Long Beach Harbor Baptist Association. He blogs at A Christward Life (SaintPJ.com) and sporadically writes for Desiring God, 9Marks, SOLA and The Gospel Coalition.
Nick Gatzke
Senior Pastor, Old North Church
Nick Gatzke is the Senior Pastor of Old North Church in Canfield, Ohio. He also serves as a Visiting Professor of Preaching at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He earned a BA from Moody Bible Institute, an MDiv at Gordon-Conwell, and then a PhD in Homiletics from the London School of Theology. Before coming to Old North, Nick was the senior pastor of Osterville Baptist Church in Osterville, Massachusetts. He serves as the Vice President of the Evangelical Homiletics Society and is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. Nick has published several articles and book reviews with the Journal of the Evangelical Homiletics Society and the 9 Marks Journal.
