Character Counts

Pastor Godfrey Thulani Chigumbura came to last month’s Workshop in Johannesburg ready to hone his preaching skills–and that happened. But his biggest takeaway was the need for gospel ministers to cultivate godly character. Godfrey was challenged to be the first one impacted by the text that he is preparing to preach. “We’re not just professionals,” he says, “God is ministering to us. From that fruit, then, we are able to share with others.” Godfrey believes that more pastors in his city–Bulawayo, Zimbabwe–need this challenge, and plans to bring a few to the Workshop next year.
