What Is It?
The Workshop on Biblical Exposition is a three-day training event aimed to encourage and equip you in the skills needed to read, understand, and proclaim the Word of God.
Who Should Attend?
The Workshops on Biblical Exposition are for men who are responsible for regularly preaching and teaching. We also welcome those in bi-vocational ministries as well as those training for ministry.
How Should I Prepare?
During the small groups, you will have an opportunity to get feedback on work you’ve prepared in advance.
David Helm
Lead Pastor, Christ Church Chicago
David serves as the senior pastor of Christ Church Chicago and Chairman of the Board of the Charles Simeon Trust, an organization dedicated to the sound preaching of God’s Word. Before that, he served as Lead Pastor in the Hyde Park congregation of Holy Trinity Church. A graduate of Wheaton College, and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, David is ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). For Crossway, he authored 1 & 2 Peter and Jude, The Big Picture Story Bible, and contributed to Preach the Word: Essays on Expository Preaching in Honor of Kent Hughes. He also authored One-to-One Bible Reading for Matthias Media and the 9Marks volume Expositional Preaching.
Greg Gilbert
Senior Pastor, Third Avenue Baptist Church
Greg Gilbert is the Senior Pastor of Third Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. He earned his BA from Yale University and his MDiv. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the author of What Is the Gospel? and the co-author of What Is the Mission of the Church?, Preach: Theology Meets Practice, and The Gospel at Work: How Working For King Jesus Gives Meaning and Purpose to Our Jobs, Who Is Jesus?, Why Trust the Bible?, and Assured: Discover Grace, Let Go of Guilt, and Rest in Your Salvation.
Mark Rogers
Senior Pastor, Fellowship Church
Mark Rogers serves as the Senior Pastor of Fellowship Church in Beaumont, California. Raised in a pastor’s home in northern California, Mark was a pastoral intern at Fellowship Church while an undergraduate at California Baptist University. Mark earned an MDiv at Southern Seminary, and a PhD in Historical Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Before returning to Fellowship Church in 2014, Mark served as a College Pastor at Valley Baptist Church in Bakersfield, California, on staff at Farmdale Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and Crossway Community Church in Bristol, Wisconsin. Mark also serves as an adjunct professor at California Baptist University and as the editor of Glimpses of Christian History.
