What Is It?
The Workshop on Biblical Exposition is a three-day training event aimed to encourage and equip you in the skills needed to read, understand, and proclaim the Word of God.
Who Should Attend?
The Workshops on Biblical Exposition are for men who are responsible for regularly preaching and teaching. We also welcome those in bi-vocational ministries as well as those training for ministry.
How Should I Prepare?
During the small groups, you will have an opportunity to get feedback on work you’ve prepared in advance.
David Helm
Lead Pastor, Christ Church Chicago
David serves as the senior pastor of Christ Church Chicago and Chairman of the Board of the Charles Simeon Trust, an organization dedicated to the sound preaching of God’s Word. Before that, he served as Lead Pastor in the Hyde Park congregation of Holy Trinity Church. A graduate of Wheaton College, and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, David is ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). For Crossway, he authored 1 & 2 Peter and Jude, The Big Picture Story Bible, and contributed to Preach the Word: Essays on Expository Preaching in Honor of Kent Hughes. He also authored One-to-One Bible Reading for Matthias Media and the 9Marks volume Expositional Preaching.
Jim Johnston
Senior Pastor, Camelback Bible Church
Jim Johnston serves Senior Pastor for Camelback Bible Church near Phoenix, Arizona. He is a graduate of Wheaton College and earned both an MDiv and PhD in New Testament from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. His dissertation was on Mark’s Gospel. Jim has previously served as Senior Pastor of Tulsa Bible Church, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Senior Pastor of First Evangelical Free Church in Maplewood, Minnesota and on staff at College Church in Wheaton, Illinois and Chain of Lakes Church in Antioch, Illinois. He is the author of the forthcoming volumes on the Psalms in Crossway’s Preaching the Word commentary series
Bob Johnson
Senior Pastor, Cornerstone Baptist Church
Bob Johnson has been serving as the Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Roseville, MI since 1989. His conviction of and commitment to expositional preaching is a happy expectation of the church. He earned his MDiv from the Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary and has written a number of articles for 9Marks. He has mentored several pastors and church planters, primarily in Michigan and has helped start and sustain a pastor’s fellowship in the Detroit area.
