What Is It?
The Workshop on Biblical Exposition is a three-day training event aimed to encourage and equip you in the skills needed to read, understand, and proclaim the Word of God.
Who Should Attend?
The Workshops on Biblical Exposition are for men who are responsible for regularly preaching and teaching. We also welcome those in bi-vocational ministries as well as those training for ministry.
How Should I Prepare?
During the small groups, you will have an opportunity to get feedback on work you’ve prepared in advance.
David Helm
Lead Pastor, Christ Church Chicago
David serves as the senior pastor of Christ Church Chicago and Chairman of the Board of the Charles Simeon Trust, an organization dedicated to the sound preaching of God’s Word. Before that, he served as Lead Pastor in the Hyde Park congregation of Holy Trinity Church. A graduate of Wheaton College, and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, David is ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). For Crossway, he authored 1 & 2 Peter and Jude, The Big Picture Story Bible, and contributed to Preach the Word: Essays on Expository Preaching in Honor of Kent Hughes. He also authored One-to-One Bible Reading for Matthias Media and the 9Marks volume Expositional Preaching.

Senior Pastor Emeritus, College Church
R. Kent Hughes is senior pastor emeritus of College Church in Wheaton, Illinois. He holds the John Boyer Chair of Evangelism and Culture and is a recently retired professor of practical theology at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He holds a DMin from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Kent is also a founder of the Charles Simeon Trust, and is the series editor for the Preaching the Word commentary series as well as the author or coauthor of many books.
Carey Hughes
Senior Pastor, Christ the Redeemer
After getting a teaching degree from Columbia Bible College in 1992 Carey worked as the Jr. High Pastor at College Church in Wheaton, Illinois for several years before moving to Sydney, Australia to attend Moore Theological College/Seminary where he received a Master of Theology. In 1999, he and his family moved to Spokane, Washington to be part of a small church plant called Christ the Redeemer. He has now served at the church for the past 25 years as Youth Pastor, Family Pastor, and for the past 16 years as the Senior Pastor.
